Mantey Heights Rehabilitation and Care Center - Grand Junction,

Skilled Nursing Community -
Pay Rate - $45/hr - $55/hr DOE - Full, Part Time & PRN

FUNCTION: -The speech therapist's responsibilities include
performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment
plans, liaising with family members, and other healthcare
professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and
ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments
and therapy techniques. -
QUALIFICATIONS: -The requirements listed below are representative
of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Minimum Qualifications:
--- Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language
pathology.
--- Relevant license and certification.
--- Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be
required.
--- Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and
treatments.
--- Familiarity with database management software.
--- Excellent relationship-building skills.
--- Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
--- Willingness to conduct research and travel to conferences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key
function satisfactorily.
Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech,
and swallowing disorders.
Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family
members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment
plans.
Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new,
innovative techniques to provide the best care.
Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending
conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and
academic networks.
Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and
available therapies. -
Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy

Description
Demonstrates ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient
to fulfill job requirements. -
Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve
practical problems that may or may not include a variety of
concrete variables. This may require the ability to interpret
instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled
form.
Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social
situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner. Functions
independently with integrity, flexibility and works well with
residents, personnel and support agencies.
Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace
safety including infection control procedures, emergency response
and safety protocol.
Complies with all company policies and procedures related to
resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident
confidentiality (HIPPA).
Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the
policies in the Handbook.
