Monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.Conveys information to patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Participates in teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Administers medications, IV therapy, blood draws and laboratory testing and resulting.Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.Unit Information:Medical Oncology is 32 beds with 4 that can be Ibed or step down for Oncology patients. We provide many levels of service. That includes and is not limited to:Chemo care for patients that have received oral radiation and care to patients that require admitting due to complications related to chemo.Newly diagnosed patients and help with setting them up for success moving forward.Comfort care/ end of life patients.Behavioral based patients, dementia, general med/surg such as respiratory, GI, GU, post surgical patients.In pertinence to team comradery, consistent positive work ethic also extends within the interdisciplinary teams. The oncology unit supports career growth. IV Certification is required within the first 90 days of hire.PreferredOne (1) year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting preferredOne (1) year Specialty clinic experience preferredTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
