Job Description:This position provides assistance to the
anesthesia department by preparing medications, stocking, ordering,
cleaning and maintaining equipment, and stocking supplies. This
position is responsible for monitoring quality control and
operation of equipment. The incumbent is responsible for
transporting patient to and from the O.R., handling routine tasks
related to patient care, and organizing equipment. Posting

- Pay Details: $18.66 - $25.33/hour (depending on
experience)

- Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Shifts are determined
by availability. Potential for a rotating shift with weekend
on-call requirements
- Department: Operating Room , St. Mary's Medical Center (Grand
Junction, Colorado) Scope 1. Cleans, checks, restocks, prepares and
maintains all anesthesia equipment and supplies for each surgical
case. Ensures anesthesia machines are in surgical suites. Adds
specialty equipment and supplies to suite set-ups. Assists in
troubleshooting of equipment. Works closely with Biomed to resolve
issues with equipment.2. Partners with scheduler and unit
management team to anticipate special needs of each
anesthesiologist. Responds immediately to requests from the
anesthesiologists during cases.3. Assists the anesthesiologists in
surgical suites as needed, especially during emergencies, difficult
intubations, and traumas.4. Assists in room turnover and prepares
anesthesia equipment for next case. Restocks anesthesia supplies in
sterile processing department as needed. Collaborates with other
care site staff/departments to support anesthesia supply ordering
and inventory.5. Assists in general cleanup in Perioperative
Services.6. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain

duties as assigned.8. May be required to float to other departments
(within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business
need.9. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly
scheduled shift. Minimum Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for
Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained
within 60 days of hire with prior approval Preferred
- One year clinical experience in an accredited hospital is
preferred Understanding of medical terminology is preferredTo

- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels,
assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and
supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients,
and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well
as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and
issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency
situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and
delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes
frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,
accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer
patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and
equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and
including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This
includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including
heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms
(full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an
